Phone Line Installations Designed & Installed To Your Premise Needs

Engage Telecommunications Professionals To Design And Install Telephone Lines For Your Premises. Say No To Outdated Telephony Wiring Carried Out By Electricians!

What Is A Phone Line Lead In Cable?

A phone line lead in cable is a telecommunications cable which is installed between your network termination device (NTD) which is usually installed on the side of your house, connecting to the telecommunications pit at the front of your property on the footpath, which connects to the network cables.

With the National Broadband Network (NBN) roll out, which took over the Telstra infrastructure, they have utilised a multi mixed technology (MMT) strategy which uses difference technologies across different suburbs. We will explain further about the different technologies used below.

Why Let Oztel Handle Your Phone Line Installation?

Oztel has been a partner with Australias largest telecommunications providers and is at the forefront of the National Broadband Network (NBN) roll out, which has allowed us to install over 10,000 phone lines to homes, buildings, apartments, commercial buildings and businesses.

We have helped customers install a telephone lead in cable both underground and aerial, which includes trenching, boring techniques, elevated working platforms (EWP) and cable hauling. Whether you have renovated your house, built a new house, or even want to install a cable to a granny flat, we can definitely help you. Below are the different technologies used for NBN, which are useful to know for your phone line installation.

Different Type of NBN Connections

Fibre To The Premise (FTTP)

This is a fixed line connection, which connects fibre directly into your premises from the nearest available fibre node. This connection is usually the best option due to the speeds it provides.

Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC)

In this instance, your house will have a Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC) cable installed inside your premise, aerial or underground. The HFC network is extended from the nearest available fibre node.

Fibre To The Curb (FTTC)

Under the Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) roll out, the NBN has extended its fibre network to a Distribution Point Unit (DPU) located in the pit outside your premise. From the DPU and into your premise, the old copper cable is utilised to connect you up to the NBN network.

Fibre To The Node (FTTN)

The Fibre To The Node (FTTN) connection is made up of a mixture of copper network & internal cabling which extends up to the nearest fibre node. This means you are more likely to experience faults on the copper wiring since it is older and more fragile.

We were pleasantly surprised by the professionalism and care shown to us by Amer from Oztel. He went above and beyond to ensure work done for us by someone else was in fact correct and complete. It was such relief to hear no further work was needed. A bigger surprise was: he refused to accept payment for his time. I would recommend him highly to anyone in need of telco work.
Thank you Amer.
